TEACHING:

My teaching is guided by the famous philosopher and my fellow Dane Soren Kirkegaard who said about teaching: “Instruction begins when you, the teacher, learn from the learner; put yourself in his place so that you may understand . . . what he learns and the way he understands it.” I teach a variety of subjects related to quality and safety, leadership, methods for research and quality improvement, and health policy.

RESEARCH:

My research focus on quality and safety in global rural areas across the health care continuum.

SERVICE:

I serve on state, national and international committees and boards in the area of quality and safety and/or rural health.
