Leading up to the school's April 11 nursing research showcase, meet some of the groundbreaking and innovative nurse scientists behind the work. Carla Nye, D.N.P., shares about two areas she researches—the efficacy of simulation education and an investigation of burnout in the healthcare professions.

Ahead of the school's Research Weeks showcase event on April 11, UNlocking New Collaborations, learn more about the pioneering and inventive nurse scientists driving advancements in health care.

Meet Carla Nye, D.N.P., a nurse researcher whose interests range from the effectiveness of simulation education to decreasing burnout in the healthcare professions. A clinical professor in the Department of Family and Community Health Nursing, she recently authored two chapters and co-authored two others in the “2023 Guide to Developing Simulations: A Step-By-Step Approach (Digital Book)” by the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties. Nye is also part of a team of interprofessional researchers  investigating antecedent variables that lead to burnout in the healthcare professions.
