Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Concentration

Two-year full-time or three-year part-time in-person program

The M.S. in nursing with a concentration in psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner prepares graduates to provide primary mental health care to individuals, families or populations across the life span in a wide range of settings. Graduates earn a M.S. in nursing and are eligible to apply for certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Program Details

In the M.S. psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner concentration, your coursework will focus on assessment, diagnosis and management of mental health problems including the promotion of optimal mental health, and prevention and treatment of psychiatric disorders. You will learn advanced clinical skills, nursing theory, pharmacology, pathophysiology and health assessment skills to prepare you to provide primary mental health care.
