A learning environment unlike any other
VCU School of Nursing is located in downtown Richmond, Virginia on the health sciences-focused MCV Campus, home to Virginia's only university with schools of dentistry, medicine, nursing, pharmacy and a College of Health Professions. We are two blocks away from VCU Health, a premier academic medical center and Level I trauma center with Magnet status, where many of our students have clinical placements.

We have a diverse faculty with wide-ranging interests and scholarship. They’re experienced, caring, approachable and dedicated to developing the next generation of nurse providers and researchers. They are expert nurses who maintain their clinical practices and leading nurse scientists known for research in biobehavioral symptom management and health systems science.
Bedside and beyond
Our school offers students a multitude of ways to be engaged and supported in their learning. Our Clinical Learning Center and clinical placements ensure our students are practice-ready to deliver compassionate and patient-centered care to a diverse population. The Office of Research, Scholarship and Innovation supports faculty and student researchers with mentoring and programs. The Office of Practice and Community Engagement organizes chances for our students to learn and work in the local community.
