Health Care Innovation Certificate
Two-semester full-time or four-semester part-time, online or hybrid program
The graduate certificate in health care innovation program is a collaboration between the VCU School of Nursing and the VCU da Vinci Center for Innovation that prepares graduates as leaders in developing digital and physical products and innovative solutions in the area of health care.
- The first program of its kind in the United States and the only program of its kind in Virginia
- An interdisciplinary, innovative and creative faculty representing health science scholars, entrepreneurs, small-business owners and patent-holders
Program Details
In the health care innovation certificate program, you will learn and develop skills for problem identification, product development, user analysis, prototyping, testing, marketing, intellectual property protection (patents, copyrights and trademarks) and commercialization opportunities.

Submit the following materials to the VCU Graduate School Admissions Office. At the application link under 'Filter by School/Academic Department,' select 'da Vinci Center for Innovation (collaboration with School of Nursing).'
- Application form and application fee
- Three letters of recommendation, professional and/or academic
- Official transcripts from all schools attended
- A statement of purpose outlining career goals
- A resume stating relevant work experience

Guaranteed Admission
Students who graduate with the minimum of a bachelor’s degree from the VCU School of Nursing are guaranteed admission to any VCU nursing graduate program provided they meet the requirements for admission and there is program space availability. Contact VCU_Nurse@vcu.edu for more info.
