Scholarships
84% of current nursing students who applied for scholarships this academic year received at least one award.
Prospective Students
VCU has university-level scholarships for incoming first-year, out-of-state and transfer students. You can also connect with the Office of Financial Aid on external scholarships and to learn about graduate funding opportunities.
Current Students
VCU’s School of Nursing awards over $4 million annually in scholarships to current students. Our scholarship awards are established by alumni, individuals and organizations, and recognize factors such as financial need, academic achievement, service and leadership. These scholarships are a form of financial aid that does not need to be repaid. Scholarships for current students include awards offered at the time of admission and those awarded to continuing students through an annual scholarship application process.
How to Apply
Applications open mid-April and award notifications are made in late summer. To be considered, current students must complete the scholarship application (link to be posted when the scholarship cycle opens). To be considered for need-based scholarships, students must have a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Virginia Alternative State Aid Application (VASA) on file in addition to the scholarship application.
Note: These instructions pertain to the scholarship listings offered through the VCU School of Nursing. Those offered by the university, other VCU schools and departments, and external organizations (see 'Other Scholarships' section below) may have different timelines and application instructions.
