Two School of Nursing faculty members honored with universitywide awards

Lana Sargent and Kimberly Davis join an elite group of VCU faculty honored for shaping the future of nursing through scholarship and innovation.

Two Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing faculty members have been recognized with universitywide honors for excellence in scholarship and teaching innovation.

Lana Sargent, Ph.D., RN, FNP-C, GNP-BC, an associate professor in the Department of Adult Health and Nursing Systems, received a National/International Recognition Award (NIRA). The NIRA honors faculty whose scholarship, global engagement and leadership elevate their fields and raise VCU’s profile.

Kimberly Davis, M.S., RN, CNE, an assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Health Nursing, received an Excellence in Pedagogical Innovation Award (EPIA). The EPIA recognizes faculty who advance student-centered teaching, creative course design and accessible learning.
