Area of Current Clinical Practice
Hardy maintains a clinical practice as a PMHNP at the VCU Center for Advanced Health Management, an integrated primary care clinic within the division of geriatric medicine at VCU Health, where she has been practicing since 2014. She sees older adult and medically complex patients for psychiatric care. Hardy previously practiced at VCU University Student Health Services from 2017-2023.
Teaching
Hardy has been full-time faculty at the VCU School of Nursing since 2016 and has been the concentration lead for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program since 2017. She teaches several courses within the PMHNP program and also provides guest lectures on psychiatric mental health content for advanced health assessment, advanced pathophysiology and other graduate nursing courses. Hardy is experienced with both face to face and online instruction, develops and facilitates simulations for PMHNP students, and oversees curriculum and course development in the PMHNP program. Since 2021, she has taught a general education course offered in the fall semester for VCU undergraduate students titled Conceptualizing Mental Illness in Modern Culture.
