Bio
Robin Lawson, M.S., is a senior academic advisor in the Office of Student Success, where she applies her background in college student development to foster student belonging, cultivate student success and empower students to discover and achieve their goals. As a higher education professional with more than 15 years of experience across the Commonwealth, Lawson is active in numerous School of Nursing projects and MCV and VCU committees in areas ranging from student belonging and inclusive excellence to administrative policies and curriculum development. Additionally, she is active in NACADA, the Global Community for Academic Advising, where she has served on conference committees at the state and regional levels and presented to peers at conferences at the state, regional and national levels. As a first-generation college student, Lawson has a particular passion for advancing first-generation and underserved students and professionals in higher education, and this is where she actively volunteers her time. In addition, she takes her Star Wars fandom seriously and enjoys attending fan events and conventions locally and across the eastern U.S. and beyond.
