TEACHING
As an Adult Nurse Practitioner, I am a clinical preceptor and instructor at Richmond Health and Wellness Program. Within this program setting, I teach the care of chronic disease management, transitions of care, and social determinants of health to an interprofessional group of students. I am particularly interested in teaching students about the life experience of low-income older adults and how that impacts health outcomes throughout a continuum of care.
RESEARCH
I am interested in the care of underserved populations. Over the past several years I have worked with community partners to improve access to fresh produce and healthy food for the people that we serve at RHWP. My scholarship has focused on understanding food insecurity as a way to address chronic disease management and improve quality of life.
SERVICE
I am the clinical director of the Richmond Health and Wellness Program. I serve on the Diversity and Inclusion Council as well as the Council for Community Collaboration at the SON. I’m a member of the American Geriatric Society and Sigma Theta Tau.
