Research/Scholarship Interests

I am interested in the care of underserved populations. Over the past several years I have worked with community partners to improve access to fresh produce and healthy food for the people that we serve at the . My scholarship has focused on understanding food insecurity as a way to address chronic disease management and improve quality of life.

Teaching

As an Adult Nurse Practitioner, I am a clinical preceptor and instructor at Richmond Health and Wellness Program. Within this program setting, I teach the care of chronic disease management, transitions of care, and social determinants of health to an interprofessional group of students. I am particularly interested in teaching students about the life experience of low-income older adults and how that impacts health outcomes throughout a continuum of care.
