Family Nurse Practitioner Concentration
Two-year full-time or three-year part-time in-person program
The M.S. in nursing with a concentration in family nurse practitioner prepares graduates with the knowledge and skills to provide primary care services including wellness/preventative, episodic and chronic care to children, adolescents, adults, pregnant and postpartum women, and older adults. Graduates earn a M.S. in nursing and are eligible to apply for certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Program Details
In the M.S. family nurse practitioner concentration, your coursework will focus on episodic, comprehensive, chronic and continuous care characterized by a long-term relationship between the patient and the family nurse practitioner. You will learn advanced clinical skills, nursing theory, pharmacology, pathophysiology and health assessment skills to prepare you to provide primary care services.
